Korea Theme Park & Amusement Fair 2023

Wavegarden has started civil work on the Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon in Turtle Island, Siheung in the Gyeonggi province of South Korea. Upon completion in 2020, the project is expected to become the largest man-made surf park in the world.

The Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon,

which will be the centrepiece of the €2.1bn mixed-use development,

is capable of producing up to 1,000 ocean-like waves per hour,

across a range of different surfing areas.

Each area will offer waves of different size and power designed for everyone,

from professional surfers to newcomers.

Apart from riding waves, Turtle Island will also offer other aquatic activities such as kayaking,

SUP and swimming in zones with and without waves.

 

Aquatic Land, the first ornamental fish complex in Korea, is also established. By September 27.

A marine biological research and development center that studies a total of 77 marine organisms to be protected is also located.

The city analyzed that once the aquaculture and production facilities of ornamental fish enter, the market structure focused on imports and distribution could be improved.

It also set a goal to preoccupy the world's ornamental fish market by exporting ornamental fish.

The city decided to build the Marine Ecological Science Museum in Jeongwang-dong for 28 billion won to preserve marine ecosystems.

A marine education promotion facility and a marine animal rescue and treatment center to treat distressed or injured marine animals will also be built to improve the marine knowledge of youth.
